Meet the Blogger
Hi there! I’m Erin, the creator behind Vegetarian South. I am so glad you’ve found your way here!
Growing up in the South, food was always at the heart of every gathering. From Sunday dinners to holiday feasts, the table was usually filled with slow-cooked veggies, buttery biscuits, and smoky BBQ. When I decided to transition to a vegetarian lifestyle in 2010, I didn’t want to leave those traditional Southern flavors behind. I realized that “Southern” and “Vegetarian” didn’t have to be mutually exclusive but they could actually be a perfect match.
Why I Started Vegetarian South
I created Vegetarian South to prove that you can honor Southern culinary heritage while prioritizing plant-based ingredients. Whether you are a lifelong vegetarian or looking to add more vegetables to your plate, my goal is to make meals delicious and stress-free. In this space, I share my favorite plant-based spins on Southern favorites, alongside fresh, seasonal eats that celebrate the incredible produce found in our region.
