Vegan Gravy

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp Plant Based Butter
  • 4 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 2 cups Plant Based Milk I used Almond Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Sage
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • Cooked Plant Based Breakfast Sausage or Soy Crumbles Optional
  • Biscuits to Serve Gravy Over

Instructions

  1. In as sauce pan melt 4 tablespoons of plant based butter over medium heat on the stove top.

  2. When the butter is completely melted sprinkle 4 tablespoons of flour on to the butter stirring it to form a thick paste. Make sure all of the flour is mixed into the vegan butter.

  3. Next slowly pour in the plant based milk. Constantly stir as you pour. Work to incorporate all of the milk and butter past together breaking up lumps as you stir.

  4. Then season with sage, salt and pepper. Taste as you go. You may want to add more black pepper. Keep stirring the gravy.

  5. Continue to stir the gravy. It will slowly thicken as you stir. After 15 minutes you should notice it start to thicken. It may take up to 20 minutes to fully thicken.

  6. When the gravy has thickened you can add the optional plant based sausage if desired. Remove from heat and serve immediately over biscuits.
