Goodbye January! Hopefully February is warmer month because I am so done with the brutal cold. I remember this time last year being able to hiking in tank tops! I am also so done with feeling like a slug. I cut back on my yoga and hiking almost completely this past month and I have been struggling to let my body heal because I want to get rid of this nasty lingering cough.
I did have some fun this month though. A long weekend trip to South Florida helped cure my winter blues. Check out my post about the amazing Brunch at Plant in Miami if you haven’t already. I can’t rave about this meal enough! The food was amazing!
Speaking of amazing food did you see the
Vegan Smoked Seitan Brisket Sliders Eric made earlier this month? He makes some damn fine seitan but this was above and beyond. These photos just make me drool.
Are you ready for the Super Bowl this Sunday? It’s one of our favorite holidays. Yes, I said holiday. Even if we aren’t crazy about the teams in the game it’s still fun to celebrate. We like to try to make food that represents the teams playing or the location where the game is being played. This year it is the New England Patriots vs Philadelphia Eagles and the game is being played in Minneapolis, Minnesota. So I don’t know what we will make…vegan cheesesteak sandwiches?
If you are looking for ideas of what to serve at your Super Bowl party check out our Vegan Friendly BLT Dip it is crazy easy to make and looks fairly impressive if I don’t say so myself.
I have been rearranging the furniture again and I bought a new plant! This corner of the living room looked empty after we took the Christmas tree down so I bought this basket at
World Market (affiliate link) and moved the chair from the kitchen (also from
World Market we bought it a few years ago and it has held up really well). Lucky says “Hi”.
So what do you guys have planned for February? Eric and I try to do Valentine’s Day pretty low key. He normally will just cook us a nice dinner but I told him this year I would make something for us. I think he is a little nervous about that idea. I hope to post an idea for an appetizer or dessert early next week so be on the look out for that.
