Monthly Update

Hello March!

Goodbye February, Hello March! Sorry for being a little late with post. Things have been a little crazy around here recently so I am going to keep this short. What do you think about the changes to the blog? If you hadn’t noticed our old blogger site was down for about a week so we could relaunch on our own domain. We made this change in hopes that it would make it easier for people to find us and to make the organization of recipes better.  It’s still a work in progress. Pretty exciting stuff!?

Last month was so short and went by pretty quickly. I have been slowing getting back to my yoga routine but I’m frustrated by how much upper body strength I lost. That’s my self challenge now to build back strength and endurance but the bonus that I didn’t anticipate is that I can tell my core is getting a lot stronger too. I went to a free yoga class a couple weeks ago and the instructor pointed out how I was sitting so casually in firewall legs which is a position that has always been easy for me. She didn’t have half that amount of flexibility in the position and told me she was jealous. This comment really stuck with me because I never imagined a yoga teacher would be jealous of my ability and I realized that I do have to be more grateful for the poses that come easy to me and focus less on what I can’t do.

I’m super excited for March because it’s my Birthday month and we have trip planned! The past few years I have asked for a weekend getaway rather than presents. Last year we rented a tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere Tennessee (near Coalmont & Gruetli Laager) so that we could hike at Savage Gulf / South Cumberland State Park. That’s where Eric took this really great photo of me cramming chips into my mouth. I loved being in the woods and hiking on my Birthday so this year we going up to the Smokies and will be hiking in the national park.
