Smoked Cabbage

Smoked Cabbage is really easy to cook in a smoker. It really picks up the flavor and just falls apart. We like to smoke ours with jalapeño peppers for an extra little kick of flavor.

We fired up the smoker this weekend because it finally stopped raining! So excited! I am sick of the winter rain. I love this mild unseasonably warm weather and had to find any excused to be outside so Sunday we grilled out and spent time cleaning up our yard.

Smoked Cabbage is great in the winter it goes well with roasted root veggies. It is a great savory side dish. This is serious comfort food. I Love to serve it with potatoes and vegan sausages.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole green cabbage
  • 1/2 jalapeno pepper diced
  • 3 tbsp butter vegan butter works great!

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat your smoker.

  2. Cut out the middle of the cabbage to make a well.

  3. Add the diced jalapeno and butter the well you cut into the cabbage. 

  4. Place the whole cabbage in a disposable pan and cook in the smoker for about four hours.
