This recipe was inspired by a non-plantbased version on the blog Betsy Life.
To make this BLT Dip you need:
- 8 strips of fake bacon (In the photos for this I used MorningStar veggie bacon which is vegetarian but not vegan. Note to self check out Peta’s list of 9 Vegan Bacon Brands)
- 2 cups of lettuce
- 1 cup of cherry tomatoes cut into halves
- 12 oz vegan sour cream
- 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- 1 tsp finely chopped dill
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp mustard powder
- Chips or crackers to serve with dip
Mix the vegan sour cream with the chopped herbs. Then add in the onion, garlic, and mustard powders. Evenly spread the sour cream mixture into the bottom of your serving dish (a tart or pie pan works well). Cook the veggie bacon according to directions on package. You want it to be crispy so you can crumble it and try to evenly distribute across the top of the sour cream. Then top with lettuce and tomatoes.
